Hello we am considering licensing our company brand for another company to use in a different sector.

We have looked into franchising but do not feel that it would work for us.

I am also not sure if we are simply not a big enough brand to be considered for licensing. We currently turn over approx.£1million

We have been trading for just over 10 years now in the refurbishment and maintenance sector. We have spoken to our solictor who advised they could assist trademarking our brand and with the licensing contracts but even after all that we wouldn't be sure of the next stage or how to approach a potential licensee?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Having been in the franchising sector, you are right - steer clear of it. The Licensing model is a far more beneficial/secure route for both parties.

Having sold licensing agreements in the UK and 6 other countries, approaching potential licensees is a relatively straight forward process, once you know how to do it that is:)

If you want some impartial advice, drop me an email [email protected], I will would be happy to help.
