Hi- first post, good to be here. I run a wholesale giftware business, we've been trading for 13 years and we're well established in our sector. As well as supplying our own products, we represent a USA brand and offer their large range to our retailers. We've represented this brand for four years and it's known for its detail and value. I've seen a gap in the market for a similar product range but with a licensed character theme, and I'd like to try to develop products to fill this gap. I know I need to obtain a license, and I've read up the requirement from the licencor, but one of the requirements is the offer ot a licensing percentage. I've no idea what I should expect here- would a licencor be looking at 5%, 10%, 20%, and of what- cost, wholesale price, suggested retail? If anyone has any experience bringing licensed product to market I'd be very interested in your opinions. Thanks in advance for your help.
