I'm a small business based on the web hosting sector. We are currently having issues with people posting negative, false and slanderous reviews on trustpilot about us. We've reported these to trustpilot but they wont take them down. When we reported the same reviews on our google profile; they got taken down.

We've disputes our situation with trustpilot but to no avail. We are a very small startup and don't have hundreds of pounds to fight legal cases.

I know the person who's behind the reviews and we have his contact details should it be needed for a legal case.

What should I do. How should I get advice? Where can I get cheap or even free legal advice. We have business insurance but it wont cover us due to the start date of the policy.

Please urgently help. Much appreciated.

Not sure there is much you can do about it if you are using the free version of trustpilot. It’s a common problem with any review site. It’s been estimated there are now more fake reviews than there are genuine.

I’m assuming you are replying to the reviews commenting that they are libelous.

This site has filled with threads about the suspicious business model of Trustpilot. If you pay Trustpilot they will remove negative reviews, it is their sales model and there isn't anything you can do about it without paying them.

I'd suggest putting some work into building up perhaps Google Reviews, asking your genuine customers to leave reviews and then Google search results will show those reviews rather than TP. You can also link to Google reviews, and they tend to be more interested in removing fake ones.

UKBF even has a negative review on Trustpilot that its video meeting software is hard to use 😅😅 ?!?!
