Hello everyone.
I'm David Evans, the founding director of Leafdoc Ltd. While we've been around for almost a year, we've just launched a fully on-line document conversion service that accepts a scanned image or images and converts them to PDF so you can search and reuse the content or copy and past the content - saving you hours of time if you need to currently retype documents.
What do I expect to gain from being here? Well, getting a plug for my business is handy (see above!) but there's areas of this forum that could well help me - and with a reasonable competency in computing and technology, I'm likely to be able to help others.
I've been involved with document processing (scanning, OCR, document management, ECM, call it what you will) for over twenty years. In that time, my industry's always talked about a 'paperless office' but I've yet to see any real indication we're making positive progress; if anything, we all seem to be getting more and more paper-bound!
While my background stems from the technical side, in the recent past I was responsible for bringing a registered company from gestation to six employees, creating a profitable arm of its multi-national parent, so I've got a reasonable mix of skills that, hopefully, I can use to good effect here.
I wish you all good sales and easy business administration!
Dave
