Hi
There seems to be a few companies offering lead data on the people visiting your website.
If you are not familiar with it. You pay a monthly fee, you add a little bit of code to your website, and they can then track who visits your site and give you company name and contact info on that visitor. You can call the visitor and say "hello, you were just on our website, why didn't you buy anything!?"
Joke.
Quite clever results. But quite a simple process I guess?
You get the IP address of the visitor (through google analytics). You then match the IP address with a database to the get the business info and contact details.
Is this how it works?
How is this possible in analytics. Audience > Network.
Is there a database of IP addresses readily available?
So as a business we have an IP address that can be matched to our business address? I guess these companies can't help for residential ip addresses. Its just B2B info.
Wouldn't mind trying to do it myself. Just in principle.
Anyone else interested?
