Laser Printers Any Better?

Hi all!

I am getting very fed up with the amount of times I have to buy ink for my inkjet printer. It's a brilliant printer but the downside is the cost.

On the face of it, laser prints look as if they have much better cost effectiveness but is this true?

Can anyone recommend a small office colour laser printer with copier and scanner?

I have both as my laser is black only. Saved a fortune in ink!!

I use the scanner on the inkjet and then print it on the laser instead of copying.

I have a HP 1022, at £50 a cartridge its expensive but lasts months!!

I've recently purchased a mono laser printer, I have no regrets - I'm making a considerable saving on toners. I highly recommend making the switch.

We had Inkjet printers, and we have changed to colour Laser (Brother) and although we do use a lot of cartridges it has saved us a fortune in ink. Always go for laser unless you need A3 to print drawings, thats the only ink jet we have left in the office. and the bonus is, I let the staff take the inkjets home so they were happy as well.

Yes , laser printers are a cheaper solution for small office and home use.I have mono laser multifunction printer( Brother DCP7030).You can make additional savings with recharged cartridges.So you can save over half the cost of new cartridges,but check your warranty card first (there is no support from manufacturer for recharge cartridges),So ,when you buy laser printer check both printer and new cartridge price.

We have brother laser printers - mono, as we don't need colour printing - cartridges are around £50, but can last us 6 months and we do a lot of printing - wouldn't go back to inkjet now if they paid me! Much faster than inkjet and not as messy either!

I've been using a Konica Minolta colour printer for 2 years now and I've never looked back at expensive inkjet printers - to replace all 4 toner drums costs around £200 but they do last for around 7/8 months.

Laser definately the way to go if you can afford the initial outlay. No more diried up ink etc.

We use an Epson Acculaser 2800 for the main printer and would recommend it to anyone.

We have a Brother HL2030 and an HP1050 and both are great, cost under £100 to buy and the toner lasts ages. For the amount of printing we have to do (sadly lots) I dread to think how much it would cost to run an inkjet!
