Large parcel courier / delivery - over 30kg

Hi all,
I have an online business and we are stocking some chairs for Christmas that will be over 30kg in weight. They are 85cm*77cm*88cm and weigh 48kg.

Is anyone aware of couriers who can carry them cheaply please? Your help is much appreciated.

I used them a lot when I was posting items abroad.

Deomestic UK, always ROYAL MAIL/POST OFFICE.

Cheaply?

For a weight like that, you will need a pallet if you want to have undamaged goods.

Use Palletline or similar carrier.

A company I am dealing with sends up to 100kg /£8 up to 200kg |£15 they use UKMAIL so might be worth a look.

Thanks. I got in touch with Palletways today. They have about 50 zones and anything outside England/Wales is very expensive. Will try Palletline.

Those look like unbelievable prices. The depot manager at our local UKMAIL depot does not fancy carrying our parcels unfortunately. I was using ipostparcels last Christmas for smaller parcels, and he got fed up one day as we had lots of boxes as a result of pre-orders we had taken. He made it clear he does not want our parcels any more (strange character).

Does the company you deal with have a contract directly with UKMAIL or through a third-party? Many thanks

Just to make clear I am a customer of a manufacturing company and that is their shipment costs 3 day service. They are not otherwise involved.

I would imagine they have a deal for business address' only combined with a large number of yearly shipments. PF quoted me for similar up to 30kg for sending out a minimum number /year.

But as above probably a pallet is probably your best way to go. Esp if you can get the dimensions to be within a half or quarter pallet cost http://www.pallet-track.co.uk/services/definitions.html
