Laptop on credit for small business

Hi all,

I'm sure this question has cropped up many times before, but here goes.

I run a small design business and am in need of a new laptop (old one is on its last legs) - but with the spec I need, I currently can't afford to buy it outright.

I have tried PC World/Currys 'buy now, pay 6 months later' but they rejected my application as I have no credit history (even though my credit score is very good). I tried Littlewoods but their service has been awful so far - don't really want to be involved in a contract with them, based on this.

Any other options out there? Thanks.

Just how much laptop do you need!!??

Unless you are doing video, a totally bog standard Acer or Asus for £300 from Dabs (combined with a 1 or 2TB USB3 drive) will cover any image you are working on. I did a pretty big set of images (100MB tiffs) for A0 posters on an Acer I bought for £300 nearly two years ago (8G RAM, Intel 1000M).

Toshiba do refurbished ones and last years models via their ebay site. I got a pretty good one a few months ago for £321 delivered (funnily enough they have them refurbed at a factory about half a mile away from me). I do a lot of design work as a main part of my business is laser engraving and it is good enough for that. You don't need to spend 1k on a laptop for most purposes just because some companies make laptops that cost that much or more.
