I did it once it cost me money, when I didn't get catalogs returned I had to buy new ones from the company!!

As with anything money can be made, pin money for your own sales and possibly bigger money for recruiting other agents. The end customers tend to dislike several agents all fighting for their business, eventually many give up, but that happens in most companies.
Of the MLM's around, it is probably one of the better ones IMO, but I am not a fan of MLM companies full stop. A girl I know used to do it and made approx £15hr on her own sales, but she soon appreciated she was not the right sort of person too recruit, so the big money eluded her.

It's in the title, 'MLM' - multi-level-marketing, it's not about the products - it's about marketing. To do well at any system like this you must be very good at persuading people to join your line and get them to do the same. It's not about your sales (although if you're clever you can make some money out of it with some hard work), it's all about your cut of your line's sales.
You need to have qualities to be able to persuade people they can achieve and then mentor them to do the same as you. Sales should come along by themselves.
The problem is that very few people manage to get a successful line together for any length of time. If you're serious about doing it then get right at it and get recruiting your line. You don't need the books, you don't need the tapes, you just need staying power and to be able to take loss of people in your line as a matter of course.
Most people give up after a couple of months because they can't take the hassle of continually looking for prospects all the time.

It's all about the down line. I really had considered Kleeneze a few years back.. but with several agents in the area I wasn't going to stand much chance. The prices of the products I guess are okay, but nowadays, being able to order everything online anyway.. it means the only way you can truly earn you way with it is to get yourself a down line and let them take care of themselves :-/

Cant see that being any better, many areas are designated no cold calling zones now and alot of people would probably refuse at the door.

done it about 10 years back p/t after days work, made enough to pay the mortgage each month and have two holidays from it and that was solely on the retail side.
So just on retail it can be worth it but IMO its a summer thing unless you have full time availability .
Going into the team building side of it.
If your upline are any good they SHOULD place some people into your downline for you to get you going , thats if you show an aptitude to then be able to do this yourself.

I joined Kleeneze a couple of years ago and it's the best decision I made. The job involves hard work if you want to succeed but it is worth it.
You will need to consider sponsoring people into your business if you wish to make the really big money but a good income can be achieved without it if you work at it.
As for personally presenting the catalogues - that's an option, not a requirement. If you're not comfortable doing it then don't. It's just another method for getting your catalogues to your customers. Nobody in Kleeneze should be forcing you into anything.
Remember to ignore the other distributors in your area. The Kleeneze system works well to allow many distributors in one place.

No it doesn't! If take a catalog to a house that's already got one, are they gonna say ooh I'll order from you as well? No I don't think so! You just rely on loads of people in your area to sign up with you, giving you a nice % of the initial outlay!

A Kleeneze distributor receives nothing from signing up a new distributor. Our money comes all from Kleeneze as a reward for mentoring a new distributor.

So the Klenezee bases it's sales on what may happen. You may get people changing their minds or moving. You may even get your catalog back! however you may not sell a thing because seller A has already been there. Where seller B picked up the extra sales, seller A loses out, because the next time he goes down that street no one extra will want anything coz they're going with seller B.

I dont beleive its as black and white as that, I think that the house dweller wil lbuy from whichever distributor happens to drop their catalogue at the right time that the house occupier is ready to buy.
Eg clearly doing large scale drops in the run up to Xmas is going to result in more sales than doing drops in summer holidays . The occupiers wont likely care whose catalogue it is (distributor A or B or a new kid on the block) theyll simply see its Kleeneze, we want some of this and that, put the order form out and deal done.
The distributor (to the occupier) is simply the person that takes the order, processes it and delivers it and takes payment. The distributor to Kleeneze is the person who makes them money , by whichever of many means that may be)

True, new customers see Kleeneze first. But part of running your business is to ensure that the customers are aware that you are their distributor.
We've got to the stage where customers contact us to tell us that they have received a catalogue from another distributor thinking that the new guys have invaded our "patch". We inform the customers that the Kleeneze system allows for multiple distributors and that they are free to purchase from whichever distributor they prefer. 99.9% of the time they stick with us.
Our business is about giving the customers a service they don't necessarily get else where (I know that sounds corny but it's true).

Used to know a guy, he had a day job in a Hospital as an ODA, but signed up for Kleeneze, he tried recruiting everybody at our Judo club, his friends, strangers etc - I and everyone else knew what being a field agent was.... basically he got told where to go.
Another friend of mine (who was studying Karate), got chatty with the Instructor, who turned out to do this MLM stuff, she and a mate, attended one of their 'Recruitment Days' - basically it was really naff, and this Head Recruiter gave this pitch about how successful they were and at the end everyone began clapping and the Karate bloke stood up and started cheering and stuff - very weird!
Later he and this Recruiter wanted to chat more about it, so my friend invited them back for a cuppa, and it was a huge sales pitch thing, basically about how much you can earn, so my friend told them she was on £35k a year, so they replied saying she can earn that, so when she declined, they just kept on saying you can make much more.
Whatever you say, they'll keep on and on, its certainly high-pressure selling, which I don't approve of.

MLM requires commitment.
I don't like it personally and have never done it but most people I know who put it down didn't have what it took to make a go of it properly.
Total commitment is required, not just "I'll have a go tonight because I've got nowt better to do."
If you throw yourself into it and build up your own network underneath then you have a chance. If you're not prepared to do that then frankly. don't bother.
It's so easy to put it down from an outsider's perspective but then again it's easy to blame everyone else don't you think?

Great post Spaceship. I have a friend who got into MLM and she works like a demon..though not in the UK...she has built a significant downline but still has not reached what I would call a breakthrough in several years but she is so determined nothing will sidetrack her. I am not a fan of MLM but know that Spaceship is correct...unless you have a burning desire and a ton of ability to recruit a downline then forget it.
MLM is like any form of sales...there is a literal queue of people lining up to knock any form of sales for no good reason and no knowledge other than the fact that we no longer have public hangings in this country and they just need to work some good old British hatred out of their system.Time for a smiley
