Is there a rule that you should not put competitors or similar brands in your keywords search. I have seen a compeitor do this with my company name and site name - thought I best check my facts first.
putting your competitors name in your keywords is only going to draw weight of their name to your website which isnt really good. Unless they or you are trying to advertise for the other company i dont really see the point in doing that. Optimise for your keywords that you have researched for your niche market, nothing else
Meta keywords are pretty much ignored, so i wouldnt worry about it. If they were using your name in other areas, then it could be viewed as keyword spamming and hence get their sites devalued or penalised potentially.
