Just resigned....HMRC

I have just resigned as a director but continue as an employee of the same Ltd. company.

Companies House have been informed and it is showing on there OK.

Do I need to separately inform HMRC / Tax Office about my change of status?

Your status should be changed on the company PAYE system. NI is calculated differently for directors and ordinary employees.

Wait for your next payslip.
As a director, if you earn more than £719 per month you won't pay NI until around December. As an employee you will pay NI every month.

Tell HMRC when you submit your self assessment after next 5 April.
