Hi,

I own a small newspaper but I have been approached by a content syndication company. They want to use the content we create such as articles, website material, games etc to syndicate to other companies.

In the contractual agreement, they have offered us 25% of all the money they manage to accumulate for the content through royalty fees etc. Is this a standard percentage because it seems a little low considering we create the content ourselves etc.

What should we be paid for the syndicated content?

I do not know this area

But as an outsider that is bonkers, THEY APPROACHED YOU, so they want the business, give them 20% as they probably just run a programme to pick your info and fire it out I 75%

Who else uses them?

The starting point should be, well it is my work so I get more than half then work from there

If they do not want to negotiate they are fools as they came to you, Tell them this is not the first request and they will be told the same as the last lot it is x%

Sounds like robbery to me
