Hi,

I am looking for a gadget that will plug into my sons TV in his bedroom and allow him to watch movies stored on my server in the office (spare bedroom) over Wi-Fi.

I know the Playstation 3 does it, or a Computer or Laptop with TV Out but ideally, I would like a cut down version just for movies.

Does anyone know if such a device exists?

Thanks

Simon

Not that i know of. How about running a dvi to dvi i cable and running it as a 2 screen setup. But i think this way wont be as good was another box. Could get a small dell mini tower or a mac mini. I think this would be the best way.

Sorry, i don't have an answer, but would be interested to hear if there are options for this (apologies for hijacking).

cmarks, why are you PMing the information? This is a forum for us to share information. I don't mean to be rude, but PMing doesn't help the wider group of the forum.

Cheers,

It wasn't really information, just thought it best not be said in public... I was going to ask where he was based, as I have an old xbox that is modified (with a media player on it -- I used to used it to stream music/movies). But seeing as I can't - if you would like it for your son, pay the postage and it's yours, it's just gathering dust under my TV - or if you lived around me I'd drop it off.

If it was info on a product I'd found, I'd have just posted it!

:) We do it here in work, but the kit that's doing it is sharing the signal with about 10/12 Plasma TV's... and it'd not be suited for home use, due to the price/size/setting up..

Thinking about it, you can get some RF/et al senders, that you can just convert from VGA - Maplins do some kits for it. It'd most likely be wired though.
