Please could you advise on the following question?

If a company requests personal information via email or text messages are they in breach of GDPR?
So they are receiving, not sending the information.

Technically they are not in breach of the GDPR. Morally I'd question why they think that collecting information by such means is secure and in the spirit of the GDPR.

If I were acting as the compliance officer for that company, I would certainly be questioning their practices if that is what they are doing.
