Is flippa a big con?

I'm selling a UK finance related site on flippa, it costs me $100 to list and they also take 5% of the final sale.. My site is an information site (no expenses) earning $1100 per month and growing. The auction is almost over and bidding has just scraped $5500 mark!

I can't help but feel a bit ripped off and that the site is worth at least double that.

Anybody else experienced this with flippa? I thought investors were all over it..

Flippa has grown to be the largest portal for buying and selling websites, I do also think that their fees are a little on the large side but you have to think that the majority of the sites for sale on their are brand new and worth very little, so they have to make up for that in their fees.

Unfortunately flippa is an auction site, if the auction finishes under the actual value of your site then that is just the way things went that time, another time you may find your website to sell for double its worth.

Try selling on businessesforsale . com, it's not an auction site so you'll be able to list it for your desired price.
