I have to be brutal and ask if anyone moderates the UKBF on a regular basis these days, no seriously...?

There are questions about dogs in the General Business threads, introductions in the International threads, Spam postings every single day which could be blocked... and now a topic, should I get plastic surgery. WTF? These should be on the Bella or Hello forums if they have them, mods should be deleting and moving inappropriate posts and the slowing of responses from members is indicative of the quality traffic / contributions being received.

Cmon' this is a downward spiral.

How many of these posts have you reported today? I personally have removed about 50-100 posts today, and banned over a dozen spammers, and moved many posts to their correct location.

We ask members to report posts they feel need moderating, purely because of the sheer volume of content that goes through the forum.

If you think that the forum is full of spam, you can't begin to imagine what it would be like if we didn't remove the volume that we do.

If you don't like the thought of reporting a post then of course that is fine, that is your prerogative, I will say though that it takes seconds to report, and reports are notified to mods via email, which means they are dealt with very quickly.

But to answer your question
I have to be brutal and ask if anyone moderates the UKBF on a regular basis these days, no seriously...?
with a resounding yes :)

Consistency

The dogs thread if you are referring to the guard dog thread, is in the business section because it is in connection with someone wanting to use their dog for their business premises. This belongs there in my view.

It is a totally different kind of thread to the look at my doggie piccie aw aint he cute that belongs in time out.

Dogs are part of many peoples businesses. They are a good part of ours and it is a very important discussion.

Not deleted thankfully. Gone on to dog bites, big friendly dogs, responsible dog ownership and the importance of bonding.

Quite a good thread I think and I hope it educates a few of these "dog handler for a day" "have a go security" types. The damaged caused by these is not insignificant.

With the best will in the world, there are people who think they know dogs but it can and does go so horribly wrong sometimes. It does not have to be this way.

Anyway, I will not turn this thread into an extension of the last!!!

Despite my recent run ins with some moderators on here and out conflicting thoughts on this forum I have to say that in recent weeks when I report a post as spam it tends to be dealt with within a few hours at the very most. This would be considered to be a pretty good turn around on a forum staffed by paid moderators so it is even more impressive when you think that this forum is moderated by volunteers who have their own businesses to run.
