Iphone 3GS - Review -What you think?

I have now had the New iphone 3GS since last friday and quite like it but i think the battery life should have been improved. After 6 hours of steady talk time its more or less empty.

If your a heavy user like me on the net and checking your indox on the web constantly this also drained the battery quicker. Did anyone else notice this problem? - I thought this problem should have been fixed.I also like the one touch button to youtube! Very handy indeed.

Its a very enjoyable experience to have one with the ablilty shoot macro and touch to focus as well as the video recording. The camera itself is 3 mega pixel but does look better - somewhat like the N95 N96!

The Memory has been increased as a factor of 5 which gives less crashes on apps than the 3G.

The compass itself I have read on many forums is people saying "What do we want this for?" But infact many developers are using this compass for many applications! So keep your head down and listen out!

Apple i noticed had to throttle the video processor but 720p will do me in the mean time.

The iphone 3gs also has the same form factor as the 3G so you do not have to buy new accessories.

Overall the iphone 3GS is about 11% faster than the palm pre in which is saying something.

So whats your opinion on the 3GS?

Dunno about the 3GS, but my first gen iPhone has OS 3 and a terrible battery life ever since.

I don't like Apple's attitude to things like changing batteries or having control over my own machine, so ultimately I won't be buying another. And it'll be a joy to get iTunes and all the other Apple junk software it comes with complete OFF my machine...

Seems good, I might have to treat myself to one at some point. One thing about your post, you're talking about the three megapixel camera - it doesn't matter how many megapixels the camera is, that's just to do with the capability of the resolution, whether or not the picture is good quality has a lot to do with the lens. For example you could have a £20 tesco camera that is 10mp, a Kodak that is 10mp and a Canon that is 10mp and the latter would be far superior due to it's schneider lens technology ;).

The selling demon in me is making me do this Traxor, I'm sorry.

You say you may be treating yourself to one. As I've done for others would you be interested in a free comparison? I can draft up a quick chart to show you what is available through UES LTD. We deal with many clients on a borad number of subjects including telecommunications.

With the relationship we have with the suppliers in the UK I'm confident that the review I can provide to you will help you in your search for a new phone.

No obligation. No strings. Just a quick outline to what you can get.

Cheers.

The Memory has been increased as a factor of 5 which gives less crashes on apps than the 3G.

The memory has been doubled from 16 to 32, factor of 2 you mean or did your finger slip? :)

Typically apps that crash the phone will be where they are contantly using resources and not freeing them so having 16 or 32 makes little difference, it just takes abit longer to crash! That said I have had my iphone 3g since last October, I think I have had to completely reboot twice due to rogue apps, other than that it runs 24/7 (apart from system updates)

Theres not enough changes I think for a 3g user to upgrade and hey its great all the must have features were rolled into OS 3.0 for existing users. I couldnt wait to MMS my n96 owning friend who bluntly replied 'welcome to the 21st century!', that said I love my iphone, they are simply awesome!
