Hi Guys,
I'm new to this Forum and being a business owner, so any advice will be listened to....and considered to be used.

I'm trying to set up an accounting system that I can sell from. I have tried Kashflow and on the accountants advice I need to enter the 3000 line items manually...and again for every price rise I may get.
There must be an easier way....is there a low cost solution that I can import my price list from excel.

I have considered Kashflow, considering Xero next and then work my way along...but thought you guys will have some experience on this and maybe even know how to solve my problem.

Would be great to have stock control too...if I can have.

Thanks in advance,
Nelson

I'm having issues with my Kashflow trail, their support is lacking...I have waited 4 days so far for a email reply....I cant invest more time if they cant support me to get started.
Any Xero experts that could be more helpful to get me started on that trial?
My business will be trading with 3000 line items....I would like to use the same software for basic stock control.
Maybe somewhere can suggest a more suitable system....that wont blow the budget.

Thanks,
Nelson

Xero will allow you to import items to set up, but as far as I know you'd have to do price changes individually afterwards. I expect that you'd only have a relatively small proportion of items that need changing at any given time,so perhaps it won't be an issue?

Xero now has basic stock control, tracking quantities purchased, sold and on hand.

There is a time issue with stock control (for any system, not just for Xero) in that it takes much longer to enter purchase invoices. Instead of entering the total goods as one total, you have to enter each line separately. If you can find some way that your suppliers will send the details electronically, Xero has an import facility which might save you time on entering the bills. It's going to take a bit of work to set up, but could be really useful.

I've only needed to contact Xero support 3 times (in over six years), once for myself and twice for clients and one of those was a corrupted transaction. Response was excellent on each occasion.

CloudBooks is the best accounting software which I recommend you to use.
