Invoice Question - Registered Office address or Trading?

Hi Everyone,

I recently started my own limited company and I'm due to be sending my first invoice out to a client on Monday.

My registered office address isn't the same as the address where I'm physically running my business (I'm working from home at the moment) - however, I'm wondering what address do I legally need to put on the invoice - I've had a look on the government website but can't seem to find a sold answer.

Is putting the registered office address on the invoice enough? Ideally, I don't really want my client to know I'm running the business from home at the moment.

Can someone help me out?

Thanks,

AJ

Hi there,

Yes, I am VAT registered and have listed everything on the invoice which is required according to the link - it still it doesn't state if I need to list both the registered office address AND the business trading address on the invoice - do you know?

Thanks so much.

As a limited company you HAVE to put at your registered address & company number ( companies act not HMRC )

I can't see why you need to put an additional address as long as it is a valid way of contacting you ( HMRC require contact information ).
(i.e the accountant or whom ever will be forwarding any physical mail to you )

    Hi,

Registered office is a legal requirement on an invoice but you will notice that most put their registered details in small type at the bottom of the sheet.

your trading address can be designed so that it sits at the top or with your logo. thus is standard practise.

if you didnt want your trading address to be your home then can i suggest a virtual office? this would give you the perception that you could be in a bigger office or part of a bigger organisation. Check out the No1 Business Centre website, they only charge £45.00 per year to register your address there.

    I hope that helps.
