Inventory Clerk?

I am thinking of starting up a business as an inventory clerk, what do you guys think of this as a business. I know you are all quite knowledgeable so I would love your feedback. Thanks Danny

I think you need to be a little more clear in you question - are you referring to inventory for real properties?

yes sorry, I mean for landlords and estate agents.

It is a perfectly viable business but, as with any business you really need to consider what you are offering (your USP) and who you are offering it to (your audience) - are you looking at up-market properties, do you have contacts in any agencies? can you do things differently/better than their current contacts?

The barriers to entry are low, which makes it a highly competitive market.

You have to think of your USP. A while ago it was easy to get set up in this line of business. Everyone and anyone could do it. Software is avaialalbe to enter the reports into, video equippment is also cheap to allow recording of the property.

Most letting agents that I know do their own inventories at move out, move in and interim.

What are you going to do that is different from your local competition?

Why should a landlord or agent come to you?

Once you have those answers its time to start taking work from everyone else.
