Inventory and accounting for book reseller

Hi all, first post so be gentle :)

I know this question has likely been asked a million times and I have looked through the threads but can't find much that gives me a definitive answer regarding my specific issues so here goes.

Basically I'm looking for a simple inventory and accounting system that I can use for my book reselling business, as I've only just started I'm not in a position to pay much but I've tried most of the open source programs but they seem to either be missing features I need (it's possible I couldn't find them, but they may well exist) or I find them simply over-complicated for my needs.

I'm used to an excel sheet and I have each book per row, and have things like purchase price of book, ebay and paypal selling fee's (auto calculated from sale price), postage fee's, etc which allows me to see each books cost and profit easily.

Ideally, I want to be able to create an inventory where I can input similar information above into the product details and have things like postage, selling fee's all sent to the appropriate area's of the accounting side of things and the sale details posted to, well, the sales side of the accounting but I'm stumped if I can figure this out and which software will do this without the need to have letters after my name in accounting.

I know it's very likely that most inventory/accounting software will do what I need but I guess it's possible I just don't know the specific terms used in accountancy to set things up and without the need of nursing me through the entire process am probably just looking for initial pointers :)
