Hello everyone,
I am Michelle and I am in the process of setting my own business up
M Martin Accountancy Services. I left my old job in April 2012 due to losing my daughter 2 years ago to DVT and she was aged 22 and I needed a career break and focus on being with my 8 year old son and basically having time out.
Then when the time was right I started looking for jobs and overall I have had 8 interviews which is good going in this current climate unfortunatlely I was not successful in getting any of the jobs but the feedback was always very positive and also I kept getting I had to much experience or I lacked in comparison to someone else.
So last month after having feedback that they really liked me but felt I had to much experience I decided to set up my own business as I got to the stage I didn't know what I could improve on very positvie interviews.
I have had 10 years working in Accounts and 8 years as a Management Accountant and I also have a banking background prior to this.
I am infliated in AAT and also been studying towards CIMA.
The business will hopefully go live next week so I am busy finalising the website and setting up going to network functions, also due to living in Wales I have been able to use Businessline which has been a great support in how to start your business up.
Hopefully if any of you are at a Network function I will be able to meet in person.

Recently joined, so just a quick "Hi" and introduction.
Living in the Vale of Glamorgan, Barry to be precise.
Just set up a Mobile Phone Repair Business offering postal repair service in South Wales Area initially and then spread nationally in a few months time.
Spent the previous 2 years learning Internet Marketing (online and offline). Made some money till I got my fingers burnt by Google!! Then spent 6 months procrastinating in the offline market - so decided it was time I got my finger out and actually did something instead of just find reasons why I couldn't
So, in less than 2 weeks I have completed a Business Plan, watched almost every repair tutorial on Youtube, got the first of my websites on page 1 of Google, bought all my tools and done about 7 repairs which have paid for the tools!!
I need help in finding reliable genuine UK trade suppliers of mobile phone parts, so if anyone can help in that field it would be greatly appreciated.
What I can offer in return is help or advice in marketing your business online. I don't do paid work in that sector any more, but more than willing to make sure my knowledge doesn't go to waste.
Looking forward to helping wherever I can

I'm Callum and I'm a Freelance Sound and Lighting Engineer and keep a hold on the web side of things at Event Management Services UK who I conduct my work through.
The company provides Sound and Lighting hire plus two way radio hire, for any type of event from weddings to outdoor shows, birthdays, conferences, exhibitions, public displays and more.
The other area of the business is providing Security services of SIA staff to events consisting of site security, pub and club door supervisors, alarm response and mobile patrols in and around West and South Wales. Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire etc.
We also work closely with a range of local groups and organisations to ensure many small local events get the best out of running their event.
Look forward to being able to help others with queries and issues regarding any licensing or event help.

Hi everyone,
My name is Yasmeen and I am a postgraduate student currently studying to gain an MSc in Human Resource Management and Business.
I am also currently conducting research for my Master Thesis looking at the Employee-Shareholder status that will be implemented in the UK in September 2013. I'm looking into the ways in which this status could impact on the employment relationship through looking at motivation and reward.
I'm finding it very interesting at the moment as I am trying to find the potential implications this status could have on SMEs in particular.
