Interspire to Magento migration

Has anyone any experience of migrating an Interspire store to Magento, either using a developer, doing it yourself or using something like Cart2Cart?

Any opinion/feedback would be very welcome.

I've only experienced moving it from Interspire to BigCommerce, but one tip I have that might be useful is that if you are on the Interspire Starter license, you can't export all your data very easily. However, if you get in touch with them, they will give you a free 30 day license for the Ultimate version, which will allow you to do it.

Hi there,

i have done a couple of these myself, but to be fair it does take me a while to get it complete.

I do know someone who i have hired on several occasions to do the development side of things and he and his team are fantastic and pretty fast at turn around times on magento sites - especially duplicating from an existing shopping cart.

Not sure if i can put his details in here so if your interested let me know and i can pm you the details - or please can a mod let me know if its ok if i post his details here?

One thing to watch out for when migrating to Magento is that if you just do a straight migration then you are probably missing out on a LOT of the cool Magento functoinality.

Magento catalogues are much more powerful and complex than most other carts however you can set them up to be very basic and if you do a straight migration this is generally what you will do.

Things you will miss out on are generally:

Attributes
Attribute Sets
Layered Navigation

plus others

I tried many different shopping carts so I have a huge experience in migration.
As for me, the best way to transfer your data is to use Cart2Cart. This online service provides high quality migration and moreover low prices.
Using a developer will cost you much more.

Good luck
