Hello folks,

I post a lot of lower value, sub £10 items to the EU, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. On my website I can offer various international shipping choices and fees.

Say I offer two choices - Royal Mail International Standard or RM International Tracked.

If a customer opts for the International Standard delivery, for which I can show proof of postage but not provide tracking. If the item didn't arrive am I responsible to refund?

simple answer: yes

Unfortunately it is always the sellers responsibility to ensure and be able to prove that an item was delivered to the customer. That is why any shipping issues goes through the seller, who in turn goes through their shipping provider - because the seller is responsible directly, and then the seller sorts out any issue with their courier.

If you have any sort of agreement with the courier, ie they will refund you for any damage or lost items, then your safe. otherwise yes you would be footing the bill for any claims directly.
