Hi all. Interlink have told me £5.50 is the cheapest they charge for parcel sending. Not a bag just a parcel. Even if I sent 500 a week this would be the lowest price. Seems too high to me. What do you all think? Thanks, Billy.

When I was contracting to Business Post 25 years ago that would have been a pretty good price and the collection driver would have received £1.20 to collect one parcel and the delivery driver £2.20 with the rest paying for all the company overheads of warehousing, distribution and admin, etc.

Drivers were making good money and the company was making good profits. everybody happy.

Today, nobody stops to think of realistic costs and like many trades the parcel business has allowed itself to be backed into a corner.

Thanks everyone.

I don't think I was clear though. I wondered if that was the cheapest price they could offer? I pay slightly more than £5.50 per parcel but wondered how much it would go down with mass volumes. I do think its reasonable and I have just moved over to them. APC were slightly cheaper but no 1 hour time slot. I have happy customers now with what seems to be a realistic eta.

I thought maybe with 500+ parcels a week the price would be much lower but it does seem to be about the same.

Billy.
