Hi all. I have an online business which is my full time job for the last 18 months.
In Sept last year I invested in a new website to help build the business.
Just recently I noticed another website that has just been setup in the same
service sector. They have blatantly cut and pasted my "About Us" page, the "Terms
and Conditions" page, the background logo on the home page. They are selling the
same products from the same supplier - but a bit cheaper coz they don't have to
charge VAT. As if this wasn't in my face enough, they have used my business name
as a Google search word. Also they have Gumtree ads with my company name
embedded in the page source ( This comes up as the 2nd entry on the 1st page
of Google after my site).
This whole "grab" at my business seems both unfair and unethical. My question is,
is there anything I can do to protect my business?
Apologies for such a heavy post early on, but any advice or help would be greatly
appreciated. I have worked 24/7 for the last 18 months and it galls me that someone
can just come along and take a chunk so easily.
