I've been in business for 20 years and always fulfilled my own orders. I'm looking to move to a 3PL and wondered who else here outsources their fulfilment and which insurance company you used? There seems to be a few more hoops I need to jump through compared to having my own warehouse.

Hi @Toon , when looking at 3PL company for fulfilment, you need to check the terms and conditions. Your goods are in their custody, care and control and therefore they should be legally liable for loss or damage to your goods whilst there.

Make sure they have insurance for your goods whilst at their premises.

Most insurers will not provide you with the cover as everything is outside your control!

If they do not insure your goods, some insurers may be able to extend your own Business Insurance policy to cover stock at 3PL. But the availability of cover and cost will vary depending on the specific details.

Talk to your broker who will be able to advise on this.
