Hi Stuart,

You have been given this for the language you used. If you look in the dictionary then you will find that this word is classed as "vulgar slang".

I am sure you would not like to offend anyone on the forum, however you have been given an infraction for this as it is classed as offensive language.

But alas, if you see it fit to give infractions to those who contribute real content to your forums, far be it from me to stop you.

Stuart, unfortunately even those who contribute the most to the forums, sometimes break rules knowingly or unknowingly. We have to use the same method and scale of infraction with everyone, no matter how much they contribute.

Did you type the word, or did you have the * in the middle of it???

I typed it... unfortunately, the censors on this vbulletin don't work properly for that word... so the Original Poster didn't have to go work it out with a crossword solver.

The words **** (sh**) and **** (cu**) automatically get censored though.

I was under the impression that this was a forum for business owners. Therefore we're unlikely to receive people on the forum offended by a word such as t*at. That said if it is such a naughty word it should be added to the list of words on the forum that are automatically censored so nobody else causes undue offence.

Unless there were several complaints made about the use of the word it was definitely overzealous censorship in my opinion.

"Infraction"
The act or an instance of infringing; a violation...
...according to Answer.com, which in turn relies on the Houghton Mifflin Company. (Personally I thought mifflin was far ruder, encompassing wet tongue tingling contact with engorged pudendum, or even pudenda for the ambitious. But WTF someone is getting puckered about you twotting will remain a mystery.)

IMHO you're wrong. Maybe people should behave in a business like way which after reading the post it wasn't - I certainly wouldn't tolerate direct and abusive use of the word (as opposed to having a laugh and calling some one it) in my office.

Belittling someone on a public forum by getting personal and insulting them isn't the UKBF way - old or new member.
