Indoor market

Just wondering if anyone else out there is in the same sort of situation I have a lockable shop unit inside a indoor market open 6days a week (all the units are secure and more like shops)

there is 15 units in total but only 7 of them are trading. The rest are being rented by other traders to use as storage or unrented.
one unit at the very opening of the doors is a café.
we are about 310 meters from the heart of the town, and we are within spitting distance from a Tesco store and petrol station

Its got so quite recently today for example I've only taken £0.90 and as i am at the front I can see the footfall is nothing. is anyone else finding it being quite where the days have been not worth while opening? any idea's on how to get more people to enter a market or even to get them to walk up this far from the town.

In the past you may have relied on passing trade, but if you no longer got the footfall then, I guess your shop needs to change to be a destination place, for things people can't get anywhere else, or maybe chocolate parties, it's the old hotel/business inspector advise, you need to draw people in, web site, do farmers markets, tasking sessions etc etc

A few suggestions that may (or may not) help.

What are the other traders in the market saying? Are they feeling the same?

If so, may I suggest clubbing together and getting a proper website for the market up and running, perhaps even a multi vendor e-commerce solution? Offer a delivery service too. Camborne isn't a big place so that could be an add on for you to offer as a group of traders? I see there's a facebook page for the market but that hasn't been updated since the 18th of December and has only 28 likes. What can you do to get that working better for you?

What about signage in the surrounding area? Are there any clear and attractive signs pointing people in the main shopping area towards the market? What can the council do to help improve it? I can't find the market on google maps.

Just a couple of things that came to mind after a 5 min search. Good luck.
