Importing from china

Hi all,

This is my first post as I embark on starting a small online business. I have found a supplier at a price I am happy with for my goods and am now looking at how to ship it from china to the UK. As I am new to this I have no idea what I should expect. I have had a quote of $1500 for a door to door service base on the following Information 20 cartons with gross weight of 355kgs and 6.10cbm. Does this seem right or should I keep looking?

That's in the right ballpark.

Consider this. A 40ft container will cost in the order of $2500 for an FOB shipment (So you would need FOB prices from the factory) and will hold over 60cbm. Its a massive benefit in terms of freight cost per item.
