Importing Computer Components from China

Good morning everyone.

I would like some advice on importing of PC components. To give a little background I have been doing a lot of research into importing from China. I basically want to start a small E business online PC parts.

I have been on Alibaba and checked out a few suppliers / manufacturers that are established/ have trade assurance etc.

The most complicated issue for me is CE /ROHS certification . Im finding that part of the process overwhelming. Basically I am not sure which directives apply to PC components (GPU's/RAM/SSD / MD etc).

Does anyone who as experience in this sector have any advice, as I would greatly appreciate it.

Get in touch with an international testing company based in UK (Intertek, SGS have offices in UK, TUV & UL are also good to use), explain the products you want to purchase and where you will be selling. Ask them what certificates will be required for each product.

Don't rely on what a supplier may tell you.
