Hey guys,

So I am looking to start my own online t-shirt business based on the spreadshirt.net model and am really looking for any advice you guys might have on a name for the business. Now I realise the best way of going about this is a name that is linked to the type of product I am selling....however I dont want to limit myself to a particular area, such as humour or geeky shirts or t-shirts with countries on etc. so need an all rounder for a name.

Any thoughts on what you think may work and names associated with that would be awesome!!

Thanks,
Phil

Sorry. It is late. This is brainstorming right? There are no wrong answers in brainstorming, just ideas and directions.

absolutelyT.com
simplyT.net
totallyT.org
wildaboutTshirts.com
stoplookingatmyteeshirt.com
all these available at this moment.
Yeah I agree you need to have a brand same as a domain, if its a new e-business.
You should assess what your target market is and comeup with something to suit that. And to be honest its probably best for a start up brand to include the word 'T-' or 't-shirt' or 'Tee shirt 'in it unless you are spending thousands on marketing campaign.
Good luck

I have opened a quick one on spreadshirt...

its www.icontshirts.co.uk

It started life as a side line as we had a few design concepts which were never used for sites, logos print work etc. It also gave the team here a bit of creative stretching in those quiet moments...

Since then it evolved to include a t-shirt/clothing shop for friends and family (birthday gifts, sailing team shirts etc) and now we even use it for our clients as we give them as gifts for recommending us or at the end of a project (maybe for a site lauch or exhibition)

Its a very handy shop to have on the side but do not expect to make your million unless you do alot of marketing as the base price for their clothing means that your mark up will be very small in order to make the clothes competitively priced.

It would be great to hear what the members think but I will happiliy admit thats its a bit rough around the edges as it was designed and coded in lunch breaks and those odd 5 minutes you get :)

As for names, why go generic... put two random words together... at least then you won't have the huge competition for google space (or Cuil.com to be topical)

- BlindMelon (a band)
- TopCookie
- death2tanktops

but if you want shirt in the title

- Chemise-Changas
- Gunshirt
- WeloveTs
- knockaboutshirt
- Themissingshirt
- shatteredshirt

I hope these help...

Guys, what can I say....some truly creative ideas!! you are either really willing to help or you are extremely bored. But to get your creative juices going some more I am also looking to start another site to go alongside the T-Shirts and after a period of time evaluate which is more productive. The other site focuses around selling caricatures and airbrush prints of celebrities and various film and tv characters. I unfortunately do not have the talent to do these myself however have arranged with an artist who sells them for the rights to resell....I would be able to make approximately 100% profit on each sale and as such it is an extremely viable business. So here we go again.....

Some quirky domain names for a site based around caricatures please :)

Ciao for now
