I have read somewhere that Google loves returning links to its searches, I have been 'advised' to not only add links to articles/pages around the subject/key words but add a Google search links to every page.

Has anyone had any experience with the above?

Yes but to every page, it was just something I have pondered for a while. I don’t want to damage my website by introducing them if it is seen as a 'black hat SEO tactics'

Try putting the links to your widgets, people can see the widget every page they go to your website.

There was talk about linking to authoritative websites e.g. Wikipedia, to help with rankings, but was a completely different ball game.

I'm a pretty strong believer in linking back to a Google search for specific product or company name. Seen great results for many clients after introducing it.
