If Protx is so rubbish who should I use?

I guess that's the entire question!

We've been using Protx for the past four years over which time our business has grown significantly and they're processing approx. 1500 sales a month for us.

We have customers who find the system infuriating but we never know how many times this is caused by the user themselves not understanding 3d secure etc and how many are time outs and other irritations.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

don't blame Protx for 3D secure blame Visa and Mastercard, your customers can skip if they want at the moment...

Transactions processed through 3D secure protect you from fraud... if you don't use it then you wont be protected ... so i think that you'd be mad to source another payment prossor for this reason alone

First, you need to separate out Protx and 3DS. 3DS is a disaster, and we refuse to use it.

Protx have good points and bad points, as do all other PSPs. On balance, they suit us better than anyone else we've tried, so we continue to use them.

I certainly don't blame Protx for 3d secure. As I said above we're never sure whether the problems we have with protx are 3d secure or other customer related problems or whether they're protx problems.

my question is that a lot of people have negative opinions of protx and as such who else would they recommend for the number of transactions we're doing.

we get problems with Protx internal server errors and numerous other problems that leave customers confused. however some of our customers struggle with some of the slightly more technical aspects of website browsing so it's difficult to point the finger of blame at protx.

i was with protx when they were down for nearly a week so i've seen them have their problems.

I'd say Protx are as good as it gets.
You could always offer other payment options too.
Why not stick a PayPal option below the ProtX one. There are lots of people out there who would rather use up their PayPal money than pay by card.

Just a thought.

we cant fault protx at all.
we were using paypal suffering lots of problems with lots of hassle

moved to protx & we have had no fraud transactions at all in a year.
we do get 1 in 15 transactions fail but do chase them up & convert 95%+ to orders now.
Customers seem happy but the 3DS does seem to confuse customers.
Im told its the same with worldpay.

I did think you could switch that off if you wanted.
Try Protx support as they are usually excellent

We also have had no problems with Protx but then we are not processing the amount of transactions you are.

As for 3ds yes you can turn it off but is it not a requirement now? If not it soon will be I believe

Hi
We use protx and we have had no problems with it. The problem I see with 3ds is that the banks and the card companies have not explained it to their customers properly and when a custome gets promted to put in a password they do not know what to do and sometimes when the screen pops up it looks like a fishing site trying to steal your details

I agree with fzx5vo, this is an issue with the banks not explaining it to their customers, there is not a lot that any PSP can do other than go along with the banks requirements.
We also use Protx and on the whole I would say that they are very good
