My gosh! I never even imagined that something like this exists, but it wouldn't surprise me. :)

Let me think:

It depends on what publicity has been done really. I am more of a creative so I can suggest all kinds of creative routes but it doesn't mean that it will be the right path for your business.

However, after having looked at a company called bodyliciousbutlers, I would say using Facebook and some specific social websites would probably be your best bet. Sure you can advertise through web banners, but interaction with your target audience is a much nicer route.

Depends on your budget as well.

If you have money to spend I would suggest creating an interactive game + website for facebook. Something quirky, enticing and appealing to your customer base.

If you don't have a massive budget, then your best bet is to employ an internet marketer. The reason I don't say Social Media Marketer is because back in the day it was never called Social Media Marketing. Just simply 'internet marketing.'

Focus on establishing your brand with your target market on sites of interest. There are forums, networking sites, etc.

I like the game idea for Facebook. It definitely has appeal and will easily go viral if done right. Or you can just create a real interesting site that links from your Facebook profile. It doesn't have to be a game.

Other routes can involve blog commenting (no spam please! I have several blogs of my own and hate when people spam useless comments. I am usually interested in real interaction and will always help out where I can if someone has a real interest in my blog and not just trying to advertise their site).

Press releases, articles, submission of interesting stories to some websites. There is a lot you can do in your case. It's just getting someone that will do it for you.

If you need more help, just contact me and I will see what I can do.

What areas do you specialise in?

I have a contact within North East since I live in Newcastle, that works with stag and hen parties. That is assuming you are not already in touch with this company or situated in the North East.

Just a quick heads up about gaining followers on twitter.

What some people sell is a simple service that uses a script/software to automatically add followers to the newly created account. As long as they stay within the daily API limits, then it should be fine. However, more often than not it can get the Twitter account banned. It won't be targeted in any form.

However, since I have never heard of this Harvey and Hugo company, I can't say what they do or do not do if you know what I mean.

Getting followers on Facebook will only cost you a couple of dollars if you know where to look.

I found their Twitter I think: twitter(dot)com/harveyandhugo

The followers are 1014 and following 1096. That tells me that all they do is following others and getting people to follow back.

It can easily be done yourself. I have done the same with my Twitter account and have... 2067 followers and I follow 2253.

There are sites where you can enter specific phrases or use the Twitter Search to find people that use the same keywords that you target in your business. Then add them and ask them to follow you back. Then use a script that unfollows the people that do not follow you back a few days down the line.

It's a time consuming process.

I guess one advantage of outsourcing the tasks to others. :)

Hi,

I am also starting up a new business and am looking for ideas to have us get noticed.

Basically, we show people how to make money trading from Stock and Shares.

We need to highlight this and show people what we are doing, so that we can bring them to our free seminars.

Any advice, offers, suggestions welcomed.

you could make up a spoof site about all escaped nudist butlers and send it to the papers, saying that there are working for different restaurants and coffee shops (for free), you could get the public to go out looking for them via fake radio reports, spoof site maybe even pitch it to sky news (they always look for out of the box stunts) sounds a bit loopy and you'd need to put in a lot of effort but the publicity would be huge if you got it right. :)

So how do you show people how to make money from stock and shares? By that I mean, do you have one-to-one consultations? Webinars? Delivering the information through an eBook?

I know you mentioned seminars... but would it primarily be seminars? Or are you hoping to write guides or a book on the subject at a later date?

Where will you have these free seminars? Who will be delivering the information?

Just some questions to think about.

Ideas:

If you have a computer, a CD/DVD writer and some material like interviews with experts or tips and secrets that you can place onto a disc, then you can offer a freebie to attract people to the seminars. I would always suggest offering something of value. People enjoy free things, but if you go out of your way to help people achieve their own goals and success, then you will find a lot more clients will want to work with you.

Targets: Small Business Owners

Idea: Send a personalized letter to a few hundred business owners. And I stress that it should be personal. If the recipient is not in the position to attend your seminar, then ask if they know anyone else that would be interested. You do that through the letter. As humans, we have a great need to help other people and asking politely will almost always get a good response.

Make sure you measure your response and use different approaches to see which works better.

Another idea: You can create a membership site and offer some free information and more expert advice if they upgrade.

Ideas that will lead to your own site: Create a landing page that is specifically targeted to obtaining information from individuals interested in the information you provide. Use Google Ads to advertise, but keep your budget under control. Measure and measure some more.

Find local forums like this one that targets the people you want to associate yourself with and interact with them. Establish yourself as an expert. Become an author... etc. These are all ideas that will work. Some ideas are very low-cost and some are free. All it takes, is your time.
