Hi there, just wondering whether anyone has any ideas for a topic for a press release, for the site in my sig? I'm trying to come up with one, but I seem to be lacking in creativity... I want something a bit different. Could be on the global economy, payday loans, whatever. Any ideas would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks :)

Dont take this as a sales ploy , because it really isn't but before you pay for any PR ( assuming u are ) consider your website, i just checked it out and maybe its because i am in the game but it looks like an Nigerian scam site.. * just my opinion " and not directed to all Nigerian people just those that like to con "

Anyway in answer to your question..

Why not focus on the fact that getting a loan when you have bad credit isnt just for the 'readies' its for the ability to improve ones life and having a 'second chance' to rebuild your credit history by demonstrating that yes times might have been hard in the past and yes you may have made some mistakes but with a loan from YOU , this can be put right.
Whilst at the same time purchasing the items or service you need the money for so its win win ,

Hi Joe,

For inspiration, check out recent news coverage on competitors 'wonga'? or your key search terms like 'payday loans'

Here's an example Google News search:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?gcx=...74a16b6679d8ffa&biw=1366&bih=610&pf=p&pdl=500

journalisted.com might be useful too.

Use what you read to get a feel for what journalists feel is newsworthy about your business. And focus your creativity on that. And perhaps responses to what you read.

As a bonus, this should give you a list of angles journalists are writing about PLUS a list of journalists to contact (track them down on twitter or via their website contact page / journalisted)

Good luck,

Richard

With Christmas coming up, you may like to consider doing something linked to that. Maybe a survey that X% of families are dreading the bills associated with Christmas this year, or the average family is planning to spend £xxx on Christmas this year.

Both topics that will be of interest, and that can link back to your business.

I agree about it being ugly as sin, it was actually the first website I've ever designed! I'll be having someone who's the best of the best at landing pages design it soon, but I'm gonna wait until it's ranking a bit higher - it'll probably be 4 figures, so don't want to put that into a site that's not ranking. Thanks for the advice though :)

Nice angle. I might go for that actually, if I combined it with a survey, I think that could do quite well.

Cheers :D

Thanks very much! I knew about Google News, but hadn't ever checked out journalisted. Thanks very much :)

Nice idea, I think I'll do that as a second press release closer to Christmas to boost rankings and exposure too. Thanks :D
