Hi,

Before anyone says it, I no the season has just come to an end, but now is the time I am being work on my idea ready for next seasons launch.

Some basically idea is ice cream van events and birthday parties, with rounds to fill in gaps.

Problem I currently got is power.

Now a ice cream van usually runs the machine off the motor, but in the van I have the dds (system runs machine) has been taken out.. And I am looking at a few thousand to have a new one and machine installed..

But I would also like to add a slush machine and power sockets to take paypal/cards.. And have a t-urn in there.

So basically I am looking for some advice on which way would be best to power this...

I heard inverters are useless as they blow alternators.
DDS I believe would have too much running from it.
Generator... Don't really want to have 2 fuel costs. - although this would help in phase 2 of my development plan.
Catering battery... Only just heard of these and could do with some advise on the matter.

Look forward to hearing from you all.

Search ' leisure batteries ' Basically you charge these big guys up at night ( they are heavy ) and have a basic inverter attached to the terminals. The inverter changes 12, 24 or 48 volts DC to 240 volts AC thus allowing you to run electrical equipment. The more power you need the more or bigger the batteries you will need. They aren't cheap but looked after they will last for many years.
