Hi all
I run a business that provides editorial and online media services - proofreading, editing, copywriting, video editing etc.
I am in the process of writing a joke book, which is obviously not related to my day-to-day business! When I finish the book, I want to self-publish it. I can either self-publish it as an individual or I can set up a publishing company (the advantage being that the book would have a company name attached to it, which would add credibility).
Now, for the sake of simplicity, I would love to be able to just publish the book under my existing company name, Full Media, so that any money I make would go on the same account. But would this be allowed? Obviously, I am an editor and copywriter by trade, and so publishing is in the same area, but admittedly a book of jokes is for fun and not business related.
I hope that all makes sense! If anyone can offer any advice I'd be very grateful!
Thanks
Nick
