I need a cheap Company Formation/Registration

Hi All

As the title says I need a cheap Company Formation/Registration company please.

Setting up a new limited company; two shareholders, 49:51 split. Reg address already sorted.

The last time I did this I used someone of UKBF but he seems to have disappeared and doesn.t reply to emails. I think I paid £35 last time.

So....... an open invitation to any UKBF member to sell me their services......:)

Just remember that there is a requirement to maintain statutory records for a company. Traditionally these have been kept in a combined company register and none of the cheap formation packages include one of these.

You will also need a hard copy of the certificate of incorporation and this has to be on the right type and colour of paper. Again the cheap packages only include a pdf version of this.

I have used company wizard (http://www.company-wizard.co.uk/) and companies made simple and have had no problem with either but I would not recommend using their cheapest packages.

Thanks all so far

Please can you explain what you mean by this.

What ? I'm not questioning you I'm just questioning 'right type of paper and colour'!!! What a load of red tape nonsense!! so 70gsm staples economy paper won't cut it ?

I see some of the online companies suggested above offer things like;

* Bound copies of Memorandum & Articles of Association
* First minutes and initial complete statutory records for company
* Share certificates for each shareholder

Are any of these legal neccessities?

Interesting.....I always thought it was a requirement that the original Certificate of Incorporation was displayed at the companies Registered Office however I can only find reference to the fact that a copy of the certificate should be displayed. I don't know if anyone else would need the original (a bank perhaps?)

It still is (as far as I can see) a requirement to keep a company register which is the record of directors, shareholders, mortgage etc. Obviously this can be in any format.

Thanks to all that posted, not only the recommends but also the discussion points about what is/isn't needed.

After looking at all of the ones recommended I went with Companies Made Simple (thanks, Rollo :)) and their bronze package.

I used a company called formations house or if you want to go down the cheap route they have a sister website that they push called companies4less.co.uk which only charges £20

You don't require anything fancy, and you won't have a problem with the bank and a printed certificate. However I did take out the additional service this year to allow us to manage the company online with them and this cost £25 more but you can opt in and out of that. It makes life easier when changing things and they just keep it all the admin in one place and online.

Hi,

Saw the post and was pretty intrigued. Most accountants offer reasonable rates for CF but try to get you to use their accountancy services over a year to make up for the great. I went to capitaldownloads.com and bought a set of documents and filed them to CH. Bit more effort but it worked out cheaper. Not a big fan of those companies that offer business bank accounts with the formation...just feels like too much information is being held.

Typical spam post....you own the site you are recommending!

If you want the cheapest option you'll find a lot of formation agents who will incorporate a limited company for you for less than £25 with PDF's of the certificate of incorporation and Memorandum & Articles of Association.
But do make sure you understand and appreciate the legal responsibilities and obligations that go with a limited company - getting it wrong can make a cheap company formation very expensive.
