I bought a do .uk.com is it any good?

Hi there members,

I recently bought a .uk.com domain and was wondering if Google does index these? The main reason for this is that I needed a domain that was keyword rich but all the other extentions were already taken.

google will index put personally i prefer .com, .co.uk .net etc..

Sorry I didnt understand that properly Extreame. Did you say that Google will index the domain .uk.com or it will only index your prefered extensions?

I would guess its treated like a .com for than a .uk.

its an interesting one..

its effectively a subdomain of the domain uk.com

that wont have the same 'I am explicitly a UK domain' value of a proper .co.uk and might not actually be regarded as a proper domain in its own right.

In general I would avoid this kind of domain.

I expect Google will realise that it's meant to be a UK domain and index it. However, people may get confused and accidentally type in .co.uk sometimes!

I'm not sure if a .co.uk domain will rank higher though... I don't know if Google prefers some types of domains to others, sorry.
