I strongly want to have a business _although I don't have any idea in my mind_ but very scared to the point that it caused me a phobia of starting a business. How can I skip this burrier?.

I don’t know if this post is in any way serious, but if you don’t have any business ideas, being afraid of starting one is almost certainly a good thing

if you want to mentally exercise and learn some skills, a good starting point would be to pick a business (either one you know or completely at random) and start to draft a business plan.

Keep your job and do a very limited business in your spare time at low cost

If you have a hobby that is a nice way into business, selling something to do with your hobby, you will not be able to compete with the big boys, but may become a expert in some minor area of it

Think like cars, you don't have either the money or skills, to sell cars; and even if you did the competition is massive, but on the more positive side you could soon become a big seller of carburetor gasket kits and repair kits to classic car enthusiasts, or say Belize stamps, or model railway tunnel entrances

No business is easy but for most of us we have to specialise in some niche area for long companies life

Not everyone is cut out to be self employed so if the very idea is causing problems don't do it and work for someone else just like the vast majority of people do

I shall echo some of the other replies here, and hope this advice, based on many years in business, may help you.

You are not ready to start a business. I wish you every success in your job searching.

It is very serious, I am in my 50s and I am an expat working abroad as operation manager at a prestigious company . I have to plan for my financial independency because I will not have any governmental retirement plans , nor any kind of social support. So I have to plan for my future.
Thank you for your advice that I must draft a business plan, yeah appreciate..

I am totally against that idea, the OP asked a rather simplistic question, but many of us have been scared of making the move into self employment

The guy has seen that his expat status may well not have a long term future but with nothing to fall back on needs to overcome a future than will probably mean limited finance and avoid high risk

Having worked as a expat in the offshore industry myself, 50 is a age when many expat jobs are disappearing, living from job by job sometimes pensions are not on the spending list and few opportunities to move back into employment in the UK

No one made you work offshore; no one made this guy work outside his country.

We see this type of ridiculous post a couple of times a week. The guy doesn't WANT to start a business, he NEEDS to. He admittedly has no ideas, and the idea of setting up his own business scares him to the point that he thinks counseling may be a good idea. You think it's a good idea that we support that?

If you're scared and don't have any ideas, there's a simple solution.

    Don't bother.

    Correct.

Thanks a lot for the supporters and hard luck for the angry birds:D
I forgot to say I have the money and expertise in my field but I don't want to continue in the same line where I am now, I want new ideas , I want some thing that is interesting and full of joy and satisfaction.
I am not a kid or a teenager who could be cheated or manipulated or kind of a man that missuses up the money or mismanage the finances nor the one who launch without planning and involving the experts who have the know-how . I am sure if I started any kind of business, within few months I will do fine and I will be well recognized.
The reason for the fobia is that I made wrong decisions in the past and I dont want to repeat that again.

    Regards
