Huge Red Vodafone Ad?!?!

O

Officebird

What is with the red vodafone ad appearing under the first post in every topic? I don't remember there being ads there before and I for one HATE it!

It is annoying and distracting and makes the forum look like a money grabbing site rather than a forum.

I don't mind them on the side or the top etc but right in the middle of threads? Presumably Vodafone are paying a trillion million quid for the ad in order to entice Sift to sell their souls and ignore the reading pleasure of the members.

When you see this ad in conjunction with the spam that doesn't get removed very quickly the whole tone of the forum changes dramatically imo:(

The ads at the top/ right are fine as they aren't in my peripheral (ad blindness) but yes, the vodaphone ad is nothing but annoying.
I probably missed it but was there a change of management recently?

Slowly but surely the forum looks like it's a money machine rather than a quality source of information.

edit - errmm .. what's with some users having a thanks button and some not?
Nothing major but!

Tough luck, you have already been thanked and thus entered.

Agreed though, the thanks button is an integral part of this forum and I don't like the idea of it stealthily being used for promotion which obligates us to do something we probably won't agree to. Hmph.

Actually can people stop thanking me as I don't want to be in the draw at all and I definitely DO NOT give ANYONE permission to use my details as part of the promotion.

Well that is the trouble isn't it. You're not the one entering the draw, we are the ones entering you in the draw. And you can't do anything to stop us :p

tbh, if sift or vodafone or anyone else wants to give my business publicity for pressing a wee thanks button, then i'm up for it.
