HTTP over non-HTTP?

Does google ever gives to priority to non http/https urls in its search results?

I am constantly trying to improve my ranking on a particular keyword, but the url above my site is very stagnant. I noticed that url has not used http and my url has https. I find this to be the only problem.

Am i right?

I sincerely can't see that being the issue here and am not aware of any preference for HTTP over HTTPS but https can be slower so are you sure that your site is nice and fast?

I think i have found my answer. Page load can be the issue. But since, i have an ev ssl certificate on my website, every page will have the https appended to it. I need to look for a solution.

I've never heard of http/https having any effect on search rankings.

Perhaps the site itself is just better optimized?
