Hi, anyone with experience in setting up HSBC payment gateway?

My programmer who build the new website from scratch has given up, and I need a specialist in this matter to make the gateway work correct!?

Anyone out there with expertise in this?

kindly regards Thomas

What is your website running?

We've experience with this in .net and classic ASP. It really is nasty though - we've never added standard support for it to our software - we had all the coding done, but even so its very tricky for users to set up.

Ditto. I would probably go so far as to charge extra if I customer wanted to use it.

Plus their customer service is Dire! I have a customer trying to set up HSBC with Paypoint.net (as the payment provider) and its taken them weeks, cause nobody at HSBC knows what they're talking about.

Nightmare!

Can't help with the HSBC question, but you should be aware that your terms and conditions are illegal - you can't charge a 25% restocking fee lawfully in the UK if the return is under DSR terms.

Hi ty for the feedback, will look into that immediately.

Not aware what DSR is? can you pls explain?

And what alternative do you suggest then?

kindly regards Thomas

Distance Selling Regulations - UK laws which govern distance selling, including web and mail order.

Alternative - you have no alternative, it's the law. You can't charge a restocking fee if the customer cancels within 7 working days of receiving the goods.

You should really familiarise yourself with the law, and ensure that your terms fall within it. You may wish to get them written professionally, so as to avoid loopholes and breeches.

If you read carefully, you can see it is only if the product has been used, not for normal return procedure!!

It's not polite to change it afterwards and pretend it was always like that.

Oh look, Google cache backs up what I said:

http://209.85.229.132/search?hl=en&...www.mycoolgadget.co.uk/action/cms/conditions/

Unwanted Goods
If you return the product (having taken reasonable care of it, complete with packaging and all components, and returned to us in "as new" condition) within 30 days of the date on which you received it, we will refund you any money which you have paid us for the product. Please allow up to 30 days for refunds to be processed. Please note that postage costs are non-refundable. If we deem that the product has been used and not in "as new" condition, we will contact you and give you the option of:
* Returning the goods to you at your cost
* Refunding the cost of the product less a restocking fee of 25%

There's really no point talking to you. The original text is there in the Google cache for everyone to read, and those terms did contravene DSR. You've now changed it, well done, but pretending you haven't isn't a very good way of saying thank you.

If you took the time to read the before and after version(you submitted), you can see they are the same and that you have made a mistake, but you are not man enough to admit to made a mistake, and move on. But instead your pride is hurt and you are very hostile suddenly, makes me doubt you try and wanna help people with your comments.

I take my business and the customer service very seriously and if something is wrong we will correct that naturally.

ps pls help somebody else with your expert knowledge, instead of irritating people that take the forum serious!!

All the best (you need it)

So does state that if the product appears to be used then a restocking fee would be applicable or returned at cost. Unless google cache is really quick and has updated in the past hour

Anyway back to the OP question.
I can't help with HSBC but as others have said it's a complete pig to get working right, I remember having to work on a clients site to get it done and in the end I gave up and used the ecommerce systems own tech support team to get a module created for it. (if I remember it was something to do with the hash codes that were causing the problem and yes HSBC tech team are idiots who haven't got a clue)

Hi Cotc, yes it seems that the hash codes makes the trouble, have read it several times now on different forums! UK2.net dont support the HSBC gateway probaly because it is to complicated!!

I have a HSBC agreement now i have paid for for 1 year, but cant use it and im already thinking about change to another provider. Want to bill customer on my site, can you recommend a gateway provider for that? So i keep my merchant account with HSBC but someone else is taking care of the transactions..!?

ty, Thomas

I did a HSBC CPI Integration a few days back. Generating the hash took me a while and caused me a little stress but besides that I didn't find it too hard. 14 hours in total and that was my first time using HSBC.

That was the type of integration where the customer starts the order on your site, gives their personal details on your site and then enters card details on the HSBC server, to then finalise the order back on your site.

I'm a little busy this week but the start of next week I could fit it in if you need my assistance.
