HP Laptop problem

Bought a second hand HP510 laptop for my daughter. Installed Win 7 but cant get wifi, or sound to work?

Methinks I need drivers but cant seem to find them on the net?

Any suggestions?

The drivers for that notebook are here:

They may or may not be compatible with Windows 7, but worth a try.

Or you could log on to Microsoft, activate your copy of windows 7 and let it find the drivers too.

Then again, maybe that's not an option?

Second hand ? first thing that goes with overheating laptops is WiFi

Its a brand new copy of Win 7 so no issues with dodgy software thank you

I paid £87 for the OEM windows and only £51 for the laptop

If it's for your daughter you're entitled to all kinds of student licencing. You might want to have a look around at Office packages etc.

I'm sure it's only businesses who pay full price these days :-(

It was just a stop gap really as her existing laptop has gone beyond repair and she is getting a brand new one for uni in September. Bought it off ebay but couldnt get the drivers to run.

Managed to get it working now thanks to the link from Posilan

On the hp laptops you should be able to take the wireless cover off and see the model number. Then just do a search for it on the web . As for sound there's 2 ways try and get lucky with a set of drivers for a laptop which is close in spec or open the laptop and take the model number off the motherboard and do a search for that.
