Hi there everyone

I just need a bit of advice from those in the know here on UKBF. I wish to set up a Premium-rate Help Line for a specific sector, but i need some advice on how to set it up. I want to be able to start off with just me handling calls and then later to have the ability to add more staff to take premium rate incoming calls form customers.

Can anyone advice me how to go about setting such a scale able premium rate help line service up ?

Thanks in advance

I am not entirely sure if there is a taboo with discussing idea's around premium numbers, so perhaps i should add that it is my intention to only use the premium number for clients who would rather not commit to long or mid term accounts.

I think i have an idea how a single line works, but is it possible to have for example to lets say 10 operatives manning calls coming into a single premium number account ? Obviously i would like to have one number that becomes well known (in this case a premium number). So when "potentially" my customer interest grows i can handle more calls with staff picking up excess calls to the same number.

Anyone ?

A dead industry...
1) Most have 09, 070 (personal) etc. numbers barred on their landlines
2) Many use mobiles and networks typically bar these numbers
3) Many competitors have offered similar services over 0870, 0871 and 0845 (i.e. cheaper and less likely to be blocked)
4) You are very restricted to call duration lengths and have a very strict watchdog

Some still make a mint but with the restrictions and internet its a thing of the past.
