hi! i would like to know if it is possible to send multiple emails ( lets say to about 30 contacts) on behalf of a person but i want to disclose the email sender as someone else i.e. my client. so it appears that my client sent the emails rather than me. this is because i provide job applicaiton service independently, right now i am doing it through post and its pretty darn expensive so i was thinking if i could send so many emails on behalf of my clients but with my clients email add as sender?

please advise

Hi

Yes, this is perfectly possible; and in it's most basic sense very easy to setup.

Do you use a client on your PC for emails (outlook, windows mail etc)? Or do you use a webmail service at the moment?

Many Thanks

Hi

No problem. There is no rest for the wicked is there!

Well in Outlook (or any mail app) you can actually simply specify the email address that will appear as the from address. Obviously you won't be able to receive emails from this address, but it will allow the emails to appear as if they came from your client.

One issue with this can be spam filters which will notice that the email isn't coming from your clients server, although to be honest SPF (which handles this) is not very well implemented so your usually fine.

The snag you may have is setting up the mail server. Do you have access to an SMTP server, perhaps from your host or ISP?

Many Thanks

Hi

Yes you can do, most web hosts (including us) will provide this facility. Do you have a website at the moment or a plan to get one?

However you should be able to use 02's servers, however you will need your username & password with them. Do you have access to those easily?

Many Thanks

if your refering to the smpt username and pass i dont think i have them but i can request them from o2? i might call them and have achat about it see what i can get out them?

But Leo if its not too much to ask on a bank holiday weekend, i dont suppose you could detail a short step by step instruction of what steps i should take to set up this procedure? that way once i have the details from o2 i can look at your manual :D

p.s. what is it that you do ?

Yes, it will be your normal username and password you got from them for the internet ([email protected]) etc.

No problem, if you PM me your email address I will send you over some instructions.

I run an IT installation, and support company specialising providing solutions to meet different business requirements. What is it you do?

Many Thanks

Leo

The Cc and Bcc columns work well but when you want to send email to the same group of people regularly, entering their addresses each time in these columns is not... elegant. A slicker solution is to put all these recipients in a group. Organizing and categorizing contacts data might be tedious the first time around, but the rewards are great. Once the recipients have been collected together in a group, you simply need to put the group name in the "To:" field and the message goes to everyone. No need to fiddle around with individual email addresses and, yes, a recipient can belong to one or more groups. Intrigued? Refer how to send a group email using gmail and send email to a group thrrough windows live mail.
