How to Register a Startup Company as a Sole Trader and Trademark in the UK

Hello everybody, we have developed an online delivery service for food and groceries catering to a special community in the UK. We are now trying to register our startup company as a sole trader and also register our trademark. As we are new to this process, we would appreciate any assistance on where to start and what steps we need to take. Can anyone here help us?

A company and a sole trader are two different things.

A sole trader is just you, trading yourself, using your own bank accounts and money.

A company is a different legal entity, run by one or more directors, and owned by one or more shareholders. Which one do you want to be?

Actually, my partner and I are currently running this business, and we have determined that it would be better for us to operate as sole traders rather than as a limited company. However, we would like to know more about the entire registration process, including when we should register our trademark - before or after registering as a sole trader.

You both need to register as self-employed. Trademarks are completely different, and I don't know enough to advise on that subject.

No idea about Trademarks but you will both need to register for self assessment and also register the partnership
