How to read Sage data without Sage?

Just wondering if there is any program that can read Sage data. Got a new client who has fallen out with previous book-keeper and all she's been able to get is a Sage backup file - they refuse print outs etc. Client is now using a different software, but we need to be able to read the Sage data from the first few months of the tax year.

Is there any way of achieving this without buying Sage? Or if no programs, does any accountant/bookkeeper have a multi company licence who could open the file and do some pdf's and/or csv reports for us for a reasonable fee? There's no ongoing data entry - literally just getting the reports out for a six month period.

Just a thought, but have they also provided your client with the login details?
