When you do a local biz search google displays a map before the listings and my dog walking biz ranks fine for my village on google maps but for my adjoining town I dont rank well on the maps at all even though I am second on the listings beneath the map. The maps display only that towns businesses, even those that have closed their business years ago but have still kept it on google.....I dont get it. My site is optimised for that area... I am second for that areas term and Im guessing location is pretty much everything, yet a dog walker from another area ranks on my local areas map even though they have an outdated one-page basic website, made from a website builder and have stopped posting on their social media. So any 'good' tips for getting higher on the local map listings that appear before the search results for local business searches?
